giving it all a good old press

lego delivered by the dump truck to the loading bay

(that's my new-to-me elna press of which i need to make a new cover for & give a good old clean!)

& frying up an egg-y storm

gently cracking the eggs open

separating yolk from white ... because not everyone enjoys the "yellow"

complete with a little fry pan wiggle just like jamie would!
(he must have seen someone do all that!? me? really? do i do all that?)

..... she must have 'known' he was going to be a boy!!

let's play "i spy" ....

once upon a time a very long time ago

we lived in a different house with its walls of many colours

the world of blogging was all anew

the idea of a swap was so inspiring - still is

& this little hARTy blogger joined in an "i spy" swap with Care

she will admit she has a "full blown i spy addiction"

 & thus began an inspiration ...

 you see .... this started me on a road
which led to hosting an "i spy" swap myself ...
way back here

 t'was great fun & i really should do something like it again
here i am such a long time after
& am finally at the finish!
binding has been hand stitched on ...

 all ready it has been played with
sat on, cuddled under & "spied" a-plenty
(i still have the small rainbow version to complete ... )

now it did start an inspiration
the Prayers & Squares Group at ABC
have used this idea many many times
over the last few years when a prayer quilt for a child has been requested
the very first one they made was as a silent auction item
at our very first Playful Market
lovely hey ....


i also made a couple .... with great assistance from my bloggy friend Bron ...
for the primary schools' libraries earlier this year
when we went on a mission trip to Ambon, Indonesia

so i'm feeling like this little journey has ended & yet it is just beginning

for the most, the people in our lives change & have seasons as such

but i'm all for recognising that not everyone we know or have met

will stay with us as a meaningful friendship

but the memory of said friendship is what binds us together

as we shared those steps in our journeys ... our histories

hold onto those people close, the ones that will not leave for a change of season

i quite like looking through my rose coloured glasses at times ...

so a blessing for you today .... a favourite of mine

so i have an ever expanding almost inconceivable

now we don't have one 

.... but we do have quirky spaces under stairs & house

my friend Karen posted the other day

about her "great pattern de-stash"

well .... while she's getting to & using patterns she's held onto for a while

i'm going to give mine away

here are two sets of patterns that i really like

but i know i will never make them

i've always had good intentions

& i'd adore to hold & have the finished products

i'm just not great these days at following instructions

i usually make my own up ....
unless someone clever leads me through so i see the visual

so thus was my day4 of blogtoberfest 

& my creative space for today

animal parade ...

i've hung onto this set of mix-up animals

for a long time ....

the hippo - the giraffe - the crocodile - the zebra

the kangaroo - the rhino - the camel

they connect together .... 2D to 3D
Oscar picked up the hang of putting these together really quickly

i think i showed him how to connect the
head onto the zebra body & he was off & busy

.... the fun thing will be making them all into crazy creatures

another time .... a hiparaffe or a kangmel or a crocorous??

 they are quite large as you can see in these photos

.... this all evolved into a great time

... so part 1 of day 3 of Blogtoberfest

spring sunshine-y goodies

its been a glorious spring day here ...

with some real warmth in the sunshine

we spent some of this morning soaking it up

then just because we were just around the corner ....

.... there were some "darn cheap fabrics" to check out!

paid an average of $7 a meter ... 

a really good quality cotton price 

in a bricks n' mortar fabric shop here in australia!

the very left aqua & coloured block is a flannel & i can see pj pants ...

the 2nd one from the left

how i adore this .... very retro groovy flowers

its a "riley blake" would you believe ... 

i can see appliqued tops & little skirts & "groovy baby" bibs of course

love picking up a few fresh & interesting fabrics from that shop

you do need to pick through the country cottage looking stuff 

but there is always buried treasure ... keep your eyes peeled

not on our beaten path as such so its not so tempting as a regular destination!

 whisked away this past weekend once again

was a little thankyou to some of the amazing helpers

from our Playful Market

so spent some time at our riBer cabin

thanks for a fun time miriam, katrina, amanda, kate & genna

just the "ladies" this time ... plus Oscar

had to have another wagon group pic taken ....

a op shop hop was in order on Sat morning

3 op shops out of the 6 i know of in Echuca/Moama

& the farmers market .... lovely time

and then on Sun morning a fun visit to the Moama market

& the Little Birdie's market & the Port ....

.... to taste some Port ... & see the "steamers"

 so here are some more thrifty finds

there are distinct patterns here if you notice

something for the studio/market stall

something retro ....

do you spot it .... oooh ???

when i spotted this aqua blue jar i was almost jumping out of my skin!

you see i have been collecting for years these retro jars ....

some have had cork tops & some glass lids like this one

i love the siluette shape without a top ...

they are lined up in a quirky spot ....

but until now i have only managed

red & orange & yellow & mustard & emerald green & brown

 the count thus far is 15

ranging from about 12cm to 22 ish

great classic retro colour palette

but i know the aqua is out there ....

my mum has a couple!

she needs to keep an eye on them or they may 'walk' my way!

.... but i found one .... & now it's found a new home

yeah i've searched on eBay & often found them

they go for too much in my book

& there's not quite the same thrill of the find in that!

... so yay for up-cycling ....
