How wonderful it is to get my hands busy making again!

In the middle of setting up the re-located studio . . . getting there slowly
Ideas are spilling out & I had a break through last night with a 'table runner' style, completely using the sewing machine & not doing the trademark chunky top stitching! So productivity on some items can be faster now! I just love the colour combo . . .

He didn't fall - He was stolen!

Humpty is with us no more!
Seems we have had a few losses ourselves!
Naughty Pepper . . . stolen generation of Oscar's toys . . . I found about 10 toys outdoors the other day . . . . including the robust Humpty who's sat on the wall one last time!
Sadly we say "bye bye" . . .

What to say?

History has a was of saying . . . . "Don't forget!"
Victoria has been suffering from the onslaught of many major bushfires . . . & some of these on our doorstep & close to places & people who know . . . Its been a case of everyone knows or knows of someone affected . . . we have our list . . . . homes gone . . . . people lost forever . . . our fauna & flora devastated . . . . I have heard that wonderful Dorothy McKellar poem "Our Sunburnt Country" many times over the last week & it pictures perfectly the terror in words . . . . for what can you say!
Its time not to forget . . .
We drove through some of the outer areas of Kilmore where the smoke is still think . . . . days & days after . . . . a spooky feel hanging in the air . . . . echoes of voices . . . even the animals seemed to want to 'talk about it' . . . .

Today there was a new baby born! A baby boy an Edmonds . . . arrived safely all the way around the globe . . . and the snow lay all around. Welcome to the world Hudson James!


Crazy day full of 'chats', Oscar crawling all over the others at Mother's group, the Christmas tree finally came down & a very funny evening with a funny man named Nick! All good!

the procrastinating stops here

I am so excited to be making with my hands once again. It feels like its been a very long time . . . So I am keen & enthusiastic to get into making beautiful things & to catch up on the unfinished & to spend time doing the little things in life that seem to have been missed lately!

Our Summer has shown its true colours this week! Soaring temperatures & a sudden down pour yesterday . . . . created that muggy, steamy affect. Reminded me of those 123 days of the ceiling collapsing . . .

. . . . so my past & present . . . my fierce independence & my inner need to make have come alive again this month!
